Summer Wines, Dinner and House Concert

As we enjoy some beautiful days of summer, our next event is a relaxing, fun social evening at a private home in DC, sampling our favorite summer wines and enjoying dinner and live music by two brilliant local musicians.

House concert

The beautiful home venue with plant-filled green space in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, is well known in the music community for hosting and supporting internationally recognized, award-winning musicians along with a vegan-friendly dinner.

Music and Dinner at Casa Phoenix

Casa Phoenix in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, known for its house concert series will be hosting two brilliant musicians: Wytold, a DC-based composer and cellist, and Gina Sobel, a vocalist and flute player.

Drinks, Dinner and Socializing

We will meet for a full vegetarian dinner at 6:30pm before the concert starts at 7:30pm. Please bring your favorite summer wine or any other beverage of choice as we socialize with other members of Grapes & Grains and music lovers attending this event prior to the concert.

The food is vegetarian, mainly gluten-free, home-cooked by the host, and offered free as her gift to everyone who attends.

The admission fee of $20 goes directly to the participating musicians. There are a limited spots for this event, as the venue is a private house.

Grapes & Grains supports the work of local artists and art communities through our 'Dinner with an Artist' program, so we are delighted to support and attend this event at Casa Phoenix.

Getting to Know the Musicians

Wytold, a DC-based composer is known for his traditional cello repertoire besides playing a six-string electric cello. His own rock-orchestral arrangements have featured in the award-winning films 'Blood Brother' and 'New Chefs on the Block'. Wytold has performed his original works with the National Symphony Orchestra and at Sundance Film Festival, the Kennedy Center, the Strathmore Performing Arts Center and many other venues.

Cello bridge

Gina Sobel specializes in flute, voice, saxophone and composition, blending her love of jazz, rock, funk and Americana.

Wytold and Gina have been collaborating and performing together for over 4 years and have been top 5 finalists in the 21st Century Musician Emerging Artist Competition.

House Rules

Casa Phoenix has a beautiful wooden floor and requests that shoes be left at the door.
