Summer with its bright sunny days, hot weather, warm nights with the gentle breeze is our favorite time to visit the beer gardens and enjoy a chilled beer.

For many beer lovers it wouldn't be a fun summer without an afternoon of enjoying a chilled beer under the shaded canopy of a beer garden with friends and others that love the spirit of summer and a nice cold beer.

As part of our summer outdoor events we have planned a few afternoons at different beer gardens across DC, Maryland and Virginia. For our first event we have selected a beer garden in DC known to be a fun, friendly, neighborhood place.

The Brig DC, a short walk from the Eastern Market Metro is a tavern and beer garden featuring German brews, plus eats such as bratwurst, pretzels, burgers and some vegetarian options. They have a good selection of German and craft beers, along with local DC brews.

Beer gardens first originated in Bavaria and they are an integral part of the German culture.

We will enjoy a couple of hours at The Brig sampling their different beers and enjoying the warm summer weather.
