We will visit a winery located on an authentic, historical property in the Agricultural Reserve of Montgomery County, Maryland, just thirty minutes from Washington DC.

Rocklands Farm is 34 scenic acres working farm, where you can pick up pasture-raised meats and local goods and enjoy wine as you relax in the peaceful, rural setting.

The vineyards at Rocklands Farm are 100% free of herbicides. In lieu of spraying herbicides for weed control, they practice mechanical tillage, planting of cover crops to out-compete the weeds, along with an overarching philosophy of improving the soil composition with organic matter and organic soil treatments so that broadleaf weeds no longer have a competitive advantage.

Red wines produced at Rocklands Farm include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chambourcin, and Tannat, while the list of white wines include Chardonnay, Gruner Veltliner, Petit Manseng, and Albariño.

The setting here is friendly, casual and relaxing and the tasting room offers locally sourced cheese, meats, and other snacks.
