Our next concert is a tribute to the reggae legend Bob Marley featuring The Wailers Band formed by the remaining members of Bob Marley & the Wailers.

The concert features Junior Marvin, a Jamaican-born guitarist and singer best known for his association with Bob Marley and The Wailers.

Getting to Know The Wailers

The Wailers Band are a reggae band formed by the remaining members of Bob Marley & the Wailers, following the death of Bob Marley in 1981. The band began as Bob Marley, Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh.

After the death of Bob Marley in 1981, the Wailers Band was led by Aston Barrett and Junior Marvin. In 2008 former Wailers Al Anderson and Junior Marvin formed The Original Wailers, with the latter departing in 2011.

In 2015, Familyman Barrett began the process of reuniting past members of the Wailers.

Junior Marvin

Born in Jamaica, Marvin moved to London as a child, where his love of both acting and music was nurtured. He quickly earned a reputation as an innovative and expressive blues/rock guitarist. In England he played with bands such as Herbie Goins & The Nighttimers, Blue Ace Unit and White Rabbit.

He appeared in the Beatles' film 'Help', which was followed by a number of other television appearances.

Marvin met Bob Marley on February 14, 1977 and joined Bob Marley and The Wailers. After the death of Bob Marley in 1981, Marvin along with the remaining Wailers members formed The Wailers Band.

Pre-Concert Drinks

The concert is hosted at the Hamilton in Washington DC, located just two blocks from the White House, near Metro Center. The venue offers two different types of tickets—General Admission Seated and General Admission Bar Area, which is on a first-come basis.

We plan to be there at 7:30 pm for pre-concert drinks. The concert starts at 8:00pm and doors open at 6:30pm.

You can opt to buy the General Admission Seated tickets, if you would like to sit and listen to the concert or General Admission Bar Area, which include a limited number of bar stools and high-top tables available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: The front row of tables and chairs will be cleared for this show to create a general admission Pit and for those that like to groove, this is the best place to take in the concert.
