For our next exploration we have chosen a different summer experience with verdant hills and a sprawling lawn with hammocks and blue corn-hole boards and the sound of bird chirps and billowing clouds.

Sounds like a fantasy ? but Lawn is an immersive installation taking up the entirety of the National Building Museum Great Hall, and offers interactive experiences for all ages.

Lawn - Leisure and Daydreaming

The National Building Museum has partnered with the LAB at Rockwell Group to present the 2019 Summer Block Party installation, which features a vast, sloping green space built on a scaffolding superstructure.

The green expanse is set on a graceful incline and dotted with clusters of communal lounging areas, where visitors can enjoy refreshments and lawn games. There are hammocks with audio speakers that share summer stories of celebrities.

When arriving at the Museum, proceed to the ticket desk to pick up your wristband. The ticket line is located near the 5th street entrance to the Museum. Wristbands will be required for entry to Museum exhibitions and Lawn.

We will meet inside, after you have entered the Museum. I will post our exact location, on the day of the event.
